Sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) is an anionic detergent used to solubilize and denature proteins in protein extraction and SDS-PAGE gel electrophoresis, molecular hybridization, and epigenetic studies. SDS (10% Solution) is effective in both ionic and anionic conditions.
