H2AX is a member of the histone H2A family. It is associated with DNA damage and diseases including Nijmegen Breakage Syndrome and Ataxia-Telangiectasia.
Gamma–H2AX is the phosphorylated form of HZAX in the position of Ser139, in response to DSB formation.
