Description
Glial-Derived Neurotrophic Factor (GDNF), also known as ATF-1, is a neurotrophic factor belonging to the TGF-β family that supports neuronal growth and survival. It is expressed in both the central nervous system and non-CNS tissues. In models of Parkinson’s disease, GDNF improves motor symptoms such as bradykinesia, rigidity, and postural instability.
