Description
DESCRIPTION
Tribio Antigen Retrieval Citrate solution, pH 6.0, is commonly used for heat-induced antigen retrieval in formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections prior to antibody staining. In immunohistochemistry (IHC), fixatives such as formalin can mask cellular, membrane, and nuclear antigens through cross-linking, often leading to weak or absent staining. Treatment with citrate buffer or other antigen retrieval solutions helps reverse this masking effect and restores antigen accessibility, thereby improving antibody binding and staining performance in FFPE samples.
