Applications

Kir4.1 blocker

Functions

Blocker of the inward rectifier potassium channel K_ir4.1 (IC₅₀ = 970 nM). It also inhibits K_ir3.1/3.2, K_ir3.1/3.4, and K_ir4.2 with similar potency. VU0134992 induced diuresis, natriuresis, and kaliuresis in Sprague-Dawley rats suggesting therapeutic blood pressure lowering potential.  It reduced polymyxin-induced nephrotoxicity in cell culture and mouse explant kidney tissue.

Application Procedures

First dissolved in DMSO (25 mg/ml), then diluted to aqueous buffer. Solutions in DMSO may be stored at -20°C for up to 3 months.
