Applications

Selective KCa1.1 activator

Functions

Selective activator of large conductance Ca(²⁺)-dependent potassium channels (BK_Ca or K_Ca1.1). It was able to increase blood-brain tumor barrier permeability in rat brain tumor models. NS 1619 inhibited proliferation and induced apoptosis in A2780 ovarian cancer cells. Displays cardioprotective effects in an ischemia-reperfusion model and neuroprotective effects in a traumatic brain injury model.

Application Procedures

First dissolved in DMSO (25 mg/ml), then diluted to aqueous buffer. Solutions in DMSO may be stored at -20°C for up to 3 months.
