Anthelmintic/YAP-TAZ blocker
Functions
Macrocyclic lactone anthelmintic drug used in veterinary medicine for the treatment of various parasitic diseases. In 2018, It was approved for use in the treatment of river-blindness in humans. Moxidectin is also being investigated as a possible treatment for scabies in humans. Inhibited the proliferation of several glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) cell lines via induction of apoptosis. It inhibited the MEK-ERK pathway resulting in blocking of nuclear translocation and transcription of the YAP/TAZ-TEAD complex in GBM cells. It suppressed growth of GBM tumors by 90% in an intracranial tumor model.
Application Procedures
First dissolved in DMSO (up to at least 25 mg/ml), then diluted to aqueous buffer. Solutions in DMSO may be stored at -20°C for up to 3 months.
