Neuroprotective; Antiapoptotic

Functions

Displays antiapoptotic, anti-inflammatory activity. Prevents neuropathic pain in a rat sciatic nerve injury model. Reduces MMP-9 activity. Attenuates disease severity in mouse models of multiple sclerosis. Displays neuroprotective activity. May be effective in methotrexate-induced lung fibrosis. Orally active and brain penetrant.

Application Procedures

First dissolved in DMSO (up to 50 mg/ml), or in Water (up to 10 mg/ml), then diluted to aqueous buffer. Solutions in DMSO or distilled water may be stored at -20° for up to 1 month.
