LXR agonist

Functions

GW3965 is a potent and selective LXR agonist, activating human LXRα and β in cell-based reporter gene assays (EC50=190 and 30 nM respectively). Since LXR is a master regulator of cholesterol and fatty acid metabolism, GW3965 exerts a variety of effects including antiatherosclerotic, antiinflammatory as well as antinociceptive and alteration of fat tissue distribution. Orally active.

Application Procedures

First dissolved in DMSO (48 mg/ml), then diluted to aqueous buffer. Solutions in DMSO may be stored at -20°C for up to 2 months.
