Description

Chymotrypsin (EC3.4.21.1) is a kind of digestive enzyme in the component of pancreatic juice to breakdown of proteins and polypeptides. It cleaves peptide bonds at side of the N-terminal to the hydrophobic amino acid which contains an aromatic ring in the side chain, such as tyrosine, tryptophan and phenylalanine. It is used to manage and reduce swelling and inflammation and is related to some diseases, such as Alzheimer’s disease, diabetes, cancer.

Chymotrypsin is initially synthesized as an inactive precursor (Zymogen) termed Chymotrypsinogen. Activation or maturation of chymotrypsinogen involves proteolytic steps.

Tribioscience Chymotrypsin Activation (Maturation) Kit provides a simple method to activate chymotrypsin protein precursor chymotrypsinogen to maturate chymotrypsin in biological samples (tissue, cells, serum, urine, stool and recombinant protein).

APPLICATIONS
