Description
Description: HLA class II molecules are heterodimeric glycoproteins consisting of α and β chains, encoded by three loci: HLA-DR, HLA-DQ, and HLA-DP. They are expressed on B cells, activated T cells, monocytes/macrophages, dendritic cells. HLA-DR and HLA-DQ alleles are associated with various autoimmune diseases, including type 1 diabetes (T1D) and systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE).
