Description
Description: The HLA Class I heavy chain, also known as the alpha chain, is a transmembrane glycoprotein that is essential for the presentation of antigens to CD8+ T cells. It forms a complex with beta-2 microglobulin and a peptide to create the functional HLA Class I molecule. The heavy chain consists of three extracellular domains (α1, α2, and α3), a transmembrane domain, and a cytoplasmic tail.
