Description
Description: HLA-A,B,C are genes encoding the classical human leukocyte antigen (HLA) class I molecules, integral to the immune system’s ability to recognize and eliminate infected or abnormal cells. These molecules are expressed on the surface of all nucleated cells and platelets, but not on red blood cells. They present peptide fragments derived from intracellular proteins to cytotoxic CD8+ T cells, enabling the immune system to detect and respond to viral infections and tumorigenic changes.
