Sodium Citrate Solution (1M)
$79.00
Citrate Concentrated Solution is 1M sodium citrate in H2O. As a conjugate base of a weak acid, sodium citrate can perform as a biological buffering agent because it resists changes in pH. Sodium citrate is used for RNA isolation because it minimizes base hydrolysis of the RNA strands.

Description
Citrate Concentrated Solution is 1M sodium citrate in H2O. As a conjugate base of a weak acid, sodium citrate can perform as a biological buffering agent because it resists changes in pH. Sodium citrate is used for RNA isolation because it minimizes base hydrolysis of the RNA strands. This makes it an important step in mRNA purification, during genomic research, or for studying transcription. Citrate-based buffers can also aid the detection of antigens in fixed tissue preparations because they break the cross-links formed between the antigens and the fixation media. Citrate has anticoagulant activity; as a calcium chelator, it forms complexes that disrupt the tendency of blood to clot.
