Applications

EP2 receptor antagonist

Functions

Potent and selective prostaglandin EP₂ receptor antagonist, KB = 2.4 and 34.5 nM for EP₂ and DP₁ receptors respectively. Displays >500-fold selectivity for EP₂ over other prostanoid receptors. Inhibits butaprost-induced proinflammatory cytokine production, cell proliferation and invasion of PC-3 cells in vitro. Inhibits PGE₂-induced inflammatory response and may represent a novel pharmacologic intervention for tumorigenesis resulting from inflammation.

Application Procedures

First dissolved in DMSO (up to 35 mg/ml) or in Ethanol (up to 10 mg/ml), then diluted to aqueous buffer. Solutions in DMSO or ethanol may be stored at -20°C for up to 3 months.
