SOD mimetic

Functions

TEMPOL (2226-96-2) is a superoxide dismutase (SOD) mimetic. Displays protective effects in CNS kidney and radiation damage. Inhibits superoxide anion-induced inflammatory pain in mice. Blunts diabetes-induced upregulation of NADPH oxidase and ER stress in a rat model of diabetic nephropathy. Cell permeable.

Application Procedures

First dissolved in DMSO (25 mg/ml) or in ethanol (17 mg/ml), then diluted to aqueous buffer. Solutions in DMSO or ethanol may be stored at -20°C for up to 1 month.
