Applications

MMP-2 inhibitor

Functions

Potent and selective inhibitor of MMP2 (K_i=28 nm) which also inhibits MMP9 (K_i=400 nM). The drug rescues laminin from proteolysis and neurons from apoptosis in a transient focal cerebral ischemia mouse model. It abrogates elevation of blood brain barrier (BBB) permeability in mouse Parkinson’s disease models and improves specific neurobehavioral deficits in a mouse model of Alzheimer’s disease. Application Procedures

First dissolved in DMSO (35 mg/ml), then diluted to aqueous buffer. Solutions in DMSO may be stored at -20°C for up to 1 month.
