COX-2 inhibitor

 

Functions

Potent and selective COX-2 inhibitor with 1000-fold selectivity over COX-1, IC₅₀=26 nm vs >50 μM. Potent nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory agent. Clinically useful NSAID which was withdrawn from use due to cardiovascular side effects.

 

Application Procedures

First dissolved in DMSO (up to 50 mg/ml), then diluted to aqueous buffer. Solutions in DMSO may be stored at -20° for up to 3 months.
