Reactivates mutant p53
Functions
Mutant p53, along with family members p63 and p73, are forced into wild-type conformation by PRIMA-1MET, thus restoring their tumor suppressor function. In addition to reactivating p53-dependent apoptosis, it blocks p73-dependent colony formation and migration of multiple myeloma cells. It also causes tumor cell death independent of p53, via glutathione depletion and ROS production.
Application Procedures
First dissolved in DMSO (up to 20 mg/ml), then diluted to aqueous buffer. Solutions in DMSO may be stored at -20°C for up to 1 month.
Research use only.
