Functions

Novel fungal metabolite produced by Phomopsis sp. which may contaminate food and feed stocks. It binds to tubulin at the vinca site. Phomopsin interferes with intracellular transport, inhibits eukaryotic cell proliferation, and promotes cell death by suppressing microtubule dynamics.

Application Procedures

First dissolved in DMSO (up to 10 mg/ml), then diluted to aqueous buffer. Solutions in DMSO may be stored at -20°C for up to 1 month.
