Endogenous cholesterol precursor / Ferroptosis inhibitor

Functions

Endogenous cholesterol precursor and is photochemically converted to vitamin D3 in the skin. It has recently been found to be a suppressor of ferroptosis and can confer a prosurvival state in cancer cells.

Application Procedures

First dissolved in DMSO (5 mg/ml) or in Ethanol (10 mg/ml), then diluted to aqueous buffer. Solutions in DMSO or ethanol may be stored at -20°C for up to 1 month.
