Applications
Antibiotic/Gasdermin D inhibitor
Functions
Pivalate ester prodrug form of the third generation cephalosporin Cefcapene. Displays broad-spectrum antibacterial activity against both Gram-negative and -positive bacteria including S. aureus. Cefcapene pivoxil potently suppresses gasdermin D-mediated pyroptosis via targeting of the oligomerization interface I. Active in vivo in a mouse model of sepsis. Cefcapene pivoxil acts synergistically with another gasdermin D inhibitor, SCR-1481B1, and a PD-L1 antibody to significantly enhance the antitumor activity of anti-PD-L1 therapy.
Application Procedures
First dissolved in DMSO (up to 85 mg/ml), then diluted to aqueous buffer. Solutions in DMSO may be stored at -20°C for up to 3 months.
Research use only.
