Functions

Cell-permeable analog of itaconic acid which activates the anti-inflammatory transcription factor Nrf2 via alkylation of KEAP1.  It inhibits various forms of cell death including ferroptosis and gasdermin B-mediated pyroptosis while inducing secretion of anti-inflammatory proteins and promoting a wound-resolving phenotype in pro-inflammatory macrophages.

Application Procedures

First dissolved in DMSO (up to 25 mg/ml), then diluted to aqueous buffer. Solutions in DMSO may be stored at -20°C for up to 1 month.
