Description
Description: CD4 is a 55 kDa single-chain type I transmembrane glycoprotein and a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily. It is primarily expressed on the surface of helper T cells (CD4+ T cells), as well as on monocytes, macrophages, dendritic cells, and most thymocytes. Due to its central role in immune system signaling and its involvement in HIV infection, CD4 is a critical molecule in both immunology and infectious disease research.
