Description
Description: CD19 is a 95 kDa transmembrane glycoprotein of the immunoglobulin superfamily, specifically expressed on B cells. It serves as a key cell surface antigen for B cell identification and is present throughout B cell development, from early stages in the bone marrow to mature B cells in peripheral blood. CD19 is a critical target in CAR T cell therapies for B cell malignancies, including chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) and B cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL). CAR T cells designed to target CD19 have demonstrated significant clinical efficacy in treating these conditions.
