Description
Uracil-N-glycosylase (UNGase), also known as uracil DNA glycosylase (UDGase), is a recombinant enzyme with a molecular weight of 25 kDa, expressed and purified from E. coli. It plays a critical role in maintaining the specificity and accuracy of PCR by reducing false positives caused by contamination from amplification products. The UNG enzyme can selectively break the glycosidic bond of uracil bases in both single-stranded and double-stranded DNA, degrading DNA that contains uracil in the reaction system and effectively eliminating residual PCR product contamination.
