Efferocytosis stimulator

Functions

Clinically useful typical antipsychotic. It acts as an antagonist at multiple receptors including dopamine D₂ and D₃ (sub-nanomolar), histamine H₁, serotonin 5-HT₇, and α_1/2-adrenergic. Stimulates efferocytosis, the phagocytic removal of apoptotic cells by macrophages, via increased expression of the retinol-binding protein receptor Stra6L leading to arginase 1 production. Potential new use for an old drug to facilitate the removal of diseased tissue.

Application Procedures

First dissolved in DMSO (up to at least 20 mg/ml, warm), then diluted to aqueous buffer. Solutions in DMSO may be stored at -20°C for up to 3 months.
