O-GlcNAcase inhibitor

 

Functions

O-GlcNAcase (O-GlcNAc-β-N-acetylglucosaminidase) and β-hexosaminidase inhibitor (Kii=46 and 36 nM, respectively).  A widely used tool for increasing cellular levels of O-GlcNAc.  Protects cardiac function after trauma-hemorrhage  which is mediated by increased protein O-GlcNAc levels.  Induces insulin resistance in rat skeletal muscle.

 

Application Procedures

First dissolved in DMSO (up to 35 mg/ml), then diluted to aqueous buffer. Solutions in DMSO may be stored at -20°C for up to 2 months.
