Applications

TRPA1 channel activator

 

Functions

TRPA1 agonist (EC50=400 nM).  A naturally occurring drimane sesquiterpene dialdehyde found in a variety of plant species including water pepper (Polygonum hydropiper). Has been used in folk medicine for a variety of indications. Displays analgesic activity via desensitization of sensory neurons.

 

Application Procedures

First dissolved in DMSO (up to 25 mg/ml) or in Ethanol (up to 25 mg/ml), then diluted to aqueous buffer. Solutions in DMSO or ethanol may be stored at -20°C for up to 2 months.
