Applications

Sphingosine-1-phosphate receptor agonist

Functions

Binds to human recombinant sphingosine-1-phosphate receptor S1P1 and S1P5 receptors in a competitive radioligand binding assay. Agonism at S1P1 receptors induced receptor internalization whereas S1P5 did not. It displays anti-inflammatory activity and is in clinical use for multiple sclerosis and inflammatory bowel disease. It reduces chronic inflammation and alleviates kidney pathology in systemic lupus erythematosus in a mouse model.

Application Procedures

First dissolved in DMSO (5 mg/ml, warm), then diluted to aqueous buffer. Solutions in DMSO may be stored at -20°C for up to 3 months.
