Functions

An NMDA noncompetitive, low affinity, open channel blocker, IC50~1 μM at -60 mV in rat retinal ganglion cells. Displays neuroprotective effects in excitotoxic conditions. Preferentially blocks excessive NMDA receptor activity without disrupting normal activity. A clinically well tolerated drug with therapeutic potential in numerous CNS degenerative disorders. In clinical use for Alzheimer’s disease.

 

Application Procedures

First dissolved in Water (up to 20 mg/ml), then diluted to aqueous buffer. Solutions in distilled water may be stored at -20°C for up to 2 months.
