Applications

Serotonin 5-HT2A antagonist

Functions

A selective serotonin 5-HT2A receptor antagonist (IC₅₀ = 6.3 nM). Also exhibits significant selectivity for the human 5-HT1Dα receptor. Was shown to be effective for the treatment of hypertension following coronary artery surgery. Has been used to disrupt the hallucinogenic effects of psilocybin and to explore cognitive effects of the 5-HT2A receptor.

Application Procedures

First dissolved in DMSO (30 mg/ml) or Water (5 mg/ml), then diluted to aqueous buffer. Solutions in DMSO or water may be stored at -20°C for up to 3 months.
