Functions

Cromolyn sodium is a mast cell stabilizer that is in clinical use as an antiasthmatic agent. It reduces LPS-induced pulmonary fibrosis by inhibition of epithelial-mesenchymal transition. It has been demonstrated to facilitate the differentiation of human induces pluripotent and human embryonic stem cells into pancreatic endocrine cells via inhibition of bone morphogenetic protein 4 signaling.

Application Procedures

First dissolved in DMSO (5 mg/ml) or Water (50 mg/ml), then diluted to aqueous buffer. Solutions in DMSO or water may be stored at -20°C for up to 2 months.
