COX-2 inhibitor

 

Functions

Selective inhibitor of cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) IC₅₀ = 15 and 0.04 μM for COX-1 and COX-2 respectively.  Potent and clinically useful antiinflammatory agent.  Cancer chemopreventive agent. May act synergistically with currently used anticancer agents. Cell permeable, active in vivo.

 

Application Procedures

First dissolved in DMSO (up to 100 mg/ml) or in Ethanol (up to 100 mg/ml), then diluted to aqueous buffer. Solutions in DMSO or ethanol may be stored at -20° for up to 3 months.
