Functions

Potent inhibitor of the sodium-dependent glucose cotransporter 2 (SGLT2), IC50 = 2.2 nM selective over SGLT1, IC50=910 nM. Dose dependently increases glucose excretion in healthy subjects. Displays beneficial effects in nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). Extends lifespan in male but not female mice. Inhibits cancer cell proliferation via inhibition of mitochondrial complex-1 supported respiration. Suppresses the growth of pancreatic cancer cells.

 

Application Procedures

First dissolved in DMSO (up to 40 mg/ml), then diluted to aqueous buffer. Solutions in DMSO may be stored at -20°C for up to 1 month.
