Description: CD40 is a cell surface receptor that belongs to the tumor necrosis factor receptor (TNFR) superfamily and was initially identified on B lymphocytes. It plays a crucial role in T cell-dependent humoral immune responses and is involved in the activation, growth, differentiation, and survival of B cells. CD40 is expressed on a variety of cell types, including monocytes, dendritic cells, endothelial cells, epithelial cells, macrophages, fibroblasts, and platelets.
