Functions

Chroman 1 (1273579-40-0) is an extremely potent inhibitor of Rho kinase II (ROCK-II) – it displayed greater selectivity and potency compared to Y-27632 (IC₅₀’s: ROCK I = 52 pM/ROCK II = 1 pM; Y-27632 IC₅₀’s: ROCK I = 71 nM/ROCK II = 46 nM).  Chroman 1, used in conjunction with trans-ISRIB (Cat# TBI1539), Emricasan (Cat# TBI4280), and polyamines (CEPT cocktail), promotes cytoprotective cell survival in human pluripotent stem cells (hPSCs) and was found to be superior to Y-27632. Chroman 1 is an important new tool in the generation and maintenance of stem cells.

Application Procedures

First dissolved in DSMO (50 mg/ml), then diluted to aqueous buffer. Solutions in DMSO may be stored at -20°C for up to 2 months.
