Functions

A nonpeptide neurotrophic factor receptor p75 (p75NTR) agonist which promotes survival signaling in neurotrophin-responsive cells. Promotes functional recovery in a mouse model of spinal contusion injury. Protects neurogenesis after traumatic brain injury. Reverses cholinergic neurite dystrophy in Alzheimer’s disease mouse models. Stabilizes neuronal calcium, preserves mitochondrial movement and protects against HIV-associated neuropathogenesis. Orally active and blood-brain barrier permeant.

 

Application Procedures

First dissolved in DMSO (up to 20 mg/ml) or in Water (up to 30 mg/ml), then diluted to aqueous buffer. Solutions in DMSO or ethanol may be stored at -20°C for up to 1 month.
