XTT assay kit
The TriBioScience XTT Cell Viability Assay Kit offers a comprehensive solution for researchers seeking to evaluate cell viability through a colorimetric method. This kit utilizes the reduction of the yellow tetrazolium salt (XTT) by mitochondrial oxidoreductases present in living cells, resulting in the formation of an orange formazan dye. The intensity of the color, which is directly proportional to the number of viable cells, can be measured by absorbance at 450 nm. This assay is particularly useful for assessing cell proliferation in response to various stimuli such as growth factors, cytokines, and nutrients, as well as for analyzing the cytotoxic effects of compounds like anticancer drugs.
Designed for ease of use, the XTT assay kit includes all necessary components: the XTT Reagent and the XTT Activator. These are provided in quantities sufficient for 500 or 1000 assays, depending on the kit size. The reagents are stored at -20°C and have a shelf-life of 12 months. The assay procedure is straightforward, involving the cultivation of cells in a 96-well plate, addition of the XTT working solution, incubation, and measurement of absorbance. Notably, the assay does not require additional reagents, wash steps, or cell transfers, making it suitable for high-throughput applications.
The XTT assay kit is a non-radioactive, safe, and accurate method for quantifying cell viability. Its simplicity and efficiency make it an ideal choice for various applications, including drug testing, cytotoxicity analysis, and apoptosis studies. By providing a complete package with all necessary components, TriBioScience ensures that researchers have a reliable and convenient tool for their cell viability assessments.
