DMEM basal medium

DMEM (Dulbecco’s Modified Eagle Medium) is a widely used basal medium for the growth and maintenance of mammalian cells. Compared with the original Eagle’s Minimal Essential Medium (EMEM), DMEM contains approximately four times higher concentrations of amino acids and vitamins, providing enhanced nutritional support for a broad range of cell culture applications.

This formulation contains 4,500 mg/L glucose, L-glutamine, phenol red, sodium bicarbonate, and sodium pyruvate. It is suitable for various primary cells and established cell lines, including fibroblasts, neurons, glial cells, HUVECs, smooth muscle cells, HeLa, 293, COS-7, and PC-12 cells. The formulation can be further supplemented or modified according to specific cell culture requirements.

Available in 500 mL and 1 L bottles. Store at 2–8°C in the dark.
