Functions

Purmorphamine induces osteogenesis in multipotent mesenchymal progenitor cells via activation of hedgehog signaling. Activation of hedgehog is achieved via direct targeting of Smoothened. Purmorphamine has also been used as part of a “cocktail” of small molecules to reprogram mouse somatic cells into pluripotent stem-like cells and human Astroglial cells into functional neurons.

 

Application Procedures

First dissolved in DMSO (up to 10 mg/ml), then diluted to aqueous buffer. Solutions in DMSO may be stored at -20°C for up to 3 months.
