Applications

HmgCoA reductase inhibitor

 

Functions

Potent inhibitor of HMG-CoA reductase, IC50=40-100 nM.  Clinically useful, orally active antihypercholesterolemic agent. Inhibits vascular smooth muscle proliferation, IC50=70 nM. Displays antineuroinflammatory activity. Prevents lung adenocarcinoma bone metastasis by triggering autophagy. Attenuates cell proliferation in hepatocellular carcinoma.

 

Application Procedures

First dissolved in DMSO (up to 40 mg/ml) or in Water (up to 10 mg/ml), then diluted to aqueous buffer. Solutions in

DMSO or distilled water may be stored at -20°C for up to 3 months.
