Applications

Thymidylate synthase inhibitor

Functions

Inhibitor of thymidylate synthase with significantly increased potency in many cancer cell lines when compared with 5-fluorouracil. It is also an inhibitor of the methyltransferase G9a (IC₅₀ = 120 nM) and decreased Aß aggregates in C. elegans indicating therapeutic potential for the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease.

Application Procedures

First dissolved in DMSO (25 mg/ml), then diluted to aqueous buffer. Solutions in DMSO may be stored under an inert atmosphere at -20°C for up to 3 months.
