Functions

PluriSln 1 is an inhibitor of stearoyl-coA desaturase (SCD1). PluriSln 1 was able to selectively eliminate human pluripotent stem cells (hPSCs) while not affecting a large array of progenitor and differentiated cells. The ability to eliminate potentially tumorigenic undifferentiated cells is important for increasing the safety of hPSC-based treatments. PluriSln 1 has been used to successfully eliminate tumorigenic cells in cardiomyocytes and chondrogenic cells.

 

Application Procedures

First dissolved in DMSO (up to 25 mg/ml), then diluted to aqueous buffer. Solutions in DMSO may be stored at -20° for up to 1 month.
