Functions
Metabolite of the cyclooxygenase inhibitor sulindac that induces apoptosis via inhibition of type 5 phosphodiesterases. Sulindac sulfone does not inhibit cyclooxygenase at physiological concentrations but does inhibit K-ras-dependent cyclooxygenase-2 expression in colon cancer cells.
Application Procedures
First dissolved in DMSO (up to 25 mg/ml), then diluted to aqueous buffer. Solutions in DMSO may be stored at -20°C for up to 1 week.
